Almost Nothing

One of my all-time favorite gesture studies.  Just kind of nailed it right away.  Probably 5 minutes.

Pregnant Lady

This model cleaned our house for a year in trade for a mother/daughter portrait.  She also traded modeling time for this one I think.

An interpretive portrait I began as a life painting demo for a class.

Portrait of Aslan

A portrait of my son from many years back.  I had posted a video of me completing it from life in one hour and eight minutes.  I added a few touchups later, but this is essentially a single sitting portrait.

This was a very special project that I did for someone, and it was my goal to get as close to a dutch process as possible from the canvas and ground up to pigment choices and handling.  It is a painting of some local musicians who perform at a historic building.

Back in Contrapposto

This was a demo on how to draw a model who is constantly moving and changing the pose.

Mickey Mouse is Dead

Our old house in the country had mice.
I was short a model that day, so this little guy made a nice stand in.

Executed at the Draw-a-Thon.
